Private Music Lessons
After gigging professionally for over 14 years, Amy began a private music instruction career in 2018. She has worked with Guitar Center Studios, Kirk's Studio for the Performing Arts, and The Scottsdale Studio of Music as a music instructor in addition to providing private instruction on her own. Amy has taught students ages 3-72 on voice, guitar, piano, bass guitar, and stage performance. She has further helped her students prepare for auditions for the Phoenix Boys Choir, evaluation for Arizona School for the Arts, and school talent show performances. Amy has additionally had the opportunity to work with veterans who have suffered from physical and neurological injuries; assisting them with patience while they work through music lessons to aid on their journey toward healing.
Amy offers private music lessons along with lessons in stage performance, group performance as a band, recording, live music engineering, equipment selection, and equipment maintenance.
Lessons focus on the foundations of music theory, what the student is passionate about, developing confidence in skill and stage presence, and empowerment as a performer. Amy uses positive reinforcement through verbal encouragement and mentorship to work towards goals set by the student. Lessons are low pressure and rooted in active learning, where students are encouraged to participate through the entirety of the lesson through active listening and observation, and hands on application of what is being taught.
